Ashley Jackson missed out on a Commonwealth Games medal after suffering penalty heartbreak for the second game in a row.

The Chatham-born former Sutton Valence School pupil was part of the England side which suffered a 5-3 defeat on penalties against New Zealand on Thursday following a 3-3 draw in Delhi.

Jackson converted his penalty to keep England's hopes alive following an earlier miss but the Black Sticks wrapped up a win with the next flick.

England also suffered defeat on penalties against India in the semi-final two days earlier, despite Jackson scoring twice and hitting the bar in a 3-3 draw, and converting his penalty in the shoot-out.
