A film crew recently visited MidKent College’s Horsted centre, where they captured students currently enrolled on the new Diploma in Engineering.

The crew from Glasshead Ltd. were shooting for a short Quality Improvement Agency(QIA) commissioned film which will promote the new Diplomas nationwide.

MidKent College staff and students, pioneers for this first round of the new Diplomas, had been specially selected for inclusion within the film, which will soon be available to view on the QIA website. The final footage, which also looks set to appear on Teachers TV, will explore how the new Diplomas are being delivered across the country.

After filming within the College’s classrooms and conducting an in-depth interview with course tutor, Ruth Kay, the crew accompanied learners on a visit to Ashford’s Xcel Power Systems, a potential work experience venue for students studying on the Diploma.
