By next Saturday, daytime temperatures across Kent are set to plunge to around 2C.

Residents in Sevenoaks are likely to feel the chilliest, with warnings it will feel more like -4C in the wind.

“There is the potential even for some hill snow in the northern parts of the country as we move through the latter part of Wednesday into Thursday.”

He said there is also a risk of overnight frosts from Tuesday onwards, with a “continuation of colder-than-average” conditions likely to continue.
