The last Bank Holiday weekend of the summer might be over, but Christmas is a long way off by anyone's calendar.

But not according to Asda, it seems.

The supermarket giant has got into the festive spirit early by putting up a Santa's grotto in its Gravesend store - believed to be the first in Kent this year.

With just fewer than four months to go until the big day, Asda said it was never too early to start saving for the festive season and was using the grotto to advertise its Christmas savings card.

The large grotto (pictured left) is adorned with Santa's chair, bags of presents and fake snow.

Jacquii Alexander-Smith, community champion at Asda's Gravesend store, said: "We put it in last week and our customers seem to be really loving it.

"They're getting excited about Christmas already and it's been a lot of fun seeing people's reactions to it."

What do you think? Have you seen any Christmas grottos elsewhere in Kent already this year? Let us know below and email your pictures to multimedianews@thekmgroup.co.uk.
