Child kidnapped: man stabbed

A young child was kidnapped for what police have described as a 'short time' during an incident in which a man was also stabbed.

Armed police were sent to Manor Drive in Hartley at 8.15pm yesterday evening.

Police say during the disturbance a young child was 'taken from its parents for a short time by a man' and a 21 year-old man was stabbed.

The child was returned safe and well a short time later.

The injured man was taken to hospital by family members. His injuries are not life threatening.

Officers have said inquiries are being made to locate the man police would like to talk to in connection with the assault.

All those involved are known to each other.

Kent Police are not appealing for any witnesses.
