Child ‘fell from moving car on M25’ near Dartford Tunnel

A child has been airlifted to hospital amid reports the infant fell from a moving car on the M25.

Traffic was brought to a standstill as police cordoned off a slip road on the clockwise carriageway heading towards the Dartford Bridge on the M25.

A police spokesman said: “Officers were called to the A127 slip road of the M25 near Junction 29 shortly before 11:30am following reports of a child being injured on the road.

“Air ambulance were in attendance and the child has been taken to hospital. Their injuries are not deemed to be life-threatening or life-changing.”

The incident caused delays to traffic and police advised those waiting to remain in their vehicles for their own safety.

Essex Police say investigations are ongoing into the circumstances amid unconfirmed reports that the incident involved a child falling from a moving car.
