Talented young musician Thomas Kelly will be rehearsing a Mozart piano concerto with the Thanet Light Orchestra at the Memorial Theatre, Hilderstone, St. Peter’s Road, Broadstairs, on Sunday, July 27, at 3pm.

The nine-year-old from Faversham is preparing for the young musician of the year competition at the Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury on September 30.

He started playing the piano when he was three and a half. At the age of seven he became Kent Junior Pianist of the Year. The following year, aged eight, he won the Mozart class at the Kent senior competition and shortly afterwards gained a distinction in his Grade 8 examination. Most recently, he was the overall prize winner at the Medway Festival of Music, Speech and Drama 2008.

As there will be limited tickets available you are advised to book via the Sarah Thorne Theatre Club Box Office on 0845 2626263. The price will be £4 per adult including a free coffee or tea. Children are admitted free but they pay for their drinks.
