Champagne worth £20,000 stolen in raid

THIEVES have stolen 1,200 bottles of Champagne in a break-in on an industrial estate at Aylesham, near Canterbury. They struck in the early hours of Monday morning and loaded the haul of Moet & Chandon worth £20,000 from a unit where it was being stored onto a truck stolen from the area shortly before.

The vehicle, a white Isuzu with Cathedral Contract Ltd written on the sides, was later found empty and abandoned in Blean.

Detectives are anxious to speak to anyone who saw the Isuzu that night or who is offered the Champagne from an unauthorised source.

Anyone with information is asked to telephone police on 01304 240055 or Crimestopppers in confidence on 0800 555 111.
