Cash stolen from two churches

TWO Kent churches have been targeted by thieves for the second time.

Between 6pm on Wednesday and 6pm the following day, the collection box on the wall of St George's Church, Ivychurch, was forced open and a quantity of cash stolen.

A similar incident took place was reported two weeks before.

Meanwhile, some time between last Sunday and Wednesday, thieves broke into St Peter and Paul Church in The Street, Appledore, and stole cash from a metal strongbox.

The box was chained to the floor and secured with a padlock.

Three weeks previously heraldic plaques worth a total of £500 were stolen.
