Carol concert in aid of new cancer unit

Students from New Brompton College will be visiting Medway Maritime Hospital next week to bring staff, patients and visitors some Christmas cheer by singing Christmas carols.

There will also be a Christmas quiz where participants will be entered into a mystery prize draw.

The students will be raising money for the new Macmillan Cancer Care Unit being built on the hospital site in Gillingham. The unit will make a big difference to the lives of cancer sufferers and their families in Medway.

They will no longer need to travel miles for life saving treatment.

As well as the chemotherapy unit, there will be a purpose built haemotology ward, a quiet place for counselling, space for relatives to stay overnight and a convenient entrance and drop-off point.

To hear the carols, come along to the John Spence Gallery, level two, green zone, between 2.15pm and 2.45pm, or the main entrance between 3pm and 3.45pm on Tuesday, December 16.
