Care home staff charged with neglect

TWO care workers have been charged with criminal neglect following an incident at a home for people with learning disabilities.

Police were called to Five Ways home in Kingsdown Park, Whitstable, after a 19-year-old male resident was allegedly scalded in a bath at the home in November.

The victim was taken to the QEQM Hospital in Margate, and then spent two weeks in the specialist burns unit at the Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead.

Ebenezer Adebisi, 27, of Forest Road, Walthamstow, and Sharon Johnson, 45, of Charnwood Street, London, have been arrested and charged with criminal neglect under Section 44 of the Mental Capacity Act 2005.

They are due to appear before magistrates in Canterbury on March 19.
