Car hit by brick thrown from bridge

A MAN had a lucky escape when his car was struck by a brick that was thrown from a bridge.

The incident happened just after 9 pm on the Hamstreet by-pass, the A2070 Poundhurst Road, on Friday night.

The brick caused damage to the car's rear windscreen. The 51-year-old driver was unharmed.

A police spokesman said: "Throwing objects onto roads is extremely dangerous, and this could have killed the driver had it been a split second earlier."
