Car fire treated as suspicious

Police are investigating the cause of a car fire on the seafront.

The car is thought to have been driven over the sea wall at Shellness Road, Leysdown, and set on fire in the early hours of today (Tuesday).

A fire crew from Eastchurch was called at about 1.15am and took about half an hour to deal with the blaze.

The car was 80 per cent damamged by the fire.

Police are looking into whether the car was stolen and are treating the fire as suspicious.
