Canterbury City and Cray Valley were both formally constituted into the Kent League Premier Division at Thursday night's annual meeting.

Their election was meant to be a formality but an hour-long meeting, which also included a lengthy debate about Divisions 1 and 2, dragged out their promotion from the Kent County League.

Canterbury finished in an automatic promotion spot, after coming second behind champions Hollands & Blair while Cray Valley were third - having finished level on points with Canterbury. The meeting heard from both club's chairmen (including Canterbury's Tim Clark, pictured), and league chairman Denise Richmond read an email from the Football Association about Cray Valley move from the recently-formed Kent Invicta League to the Kent League, before both clubs were duly elected.

The other main talking point of the evening was a proposal from Lordswood to combine Division 1 and 2. This was rejected by the clubs after a lengthy debate.

Norton's name change to Woodstock Sports was also confirmed, while Ms Richmond also told the meeting that no main sponsor had been found after Safety Net ended their deal.

The draw for the two-legged first round of the Premier Division also took place but the draw for the Division 1 and 2 Cup was held over pending seeding for group stages in the early rounds.

Newboys Canterbuy were paired with Fisher, Cray Valley will take on Beckenham and holders Herne Bay were given a derby with Deal.

Three new teams were elected into Division 2, Woodstock Sports, Phoenix Sports and Welling United.

Full draw: Herne Bay v Deal Town, Tunbridge Wells v VCD, Woodstock Sports v Greenwich, Corinthian v Holmesdale, Fisher v Canterbury, Sevenoaks v Erith & Belvedere, Cray Valley v Beckenham, Lordswood v Erith Town.
