Cannabis plants seized in Staplehurst

A cannabis farm has been uncovered in a Kent village, police revealed today.

Officers seized 48 cannabis plants and cultivation equipment after executing a warrant yesterday in Winchs Garth, Staplehurst.

The plants were in the early stages of growth. If allowed to mature, police say they could have generated cannabis with a street value of £4,800.

A 43-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis and is being questioned at Maidstone Police Station.

The raid comes after police used a thermal imaging camera, which uncovered large amounts of heat radiating from the property.
