Brands Hatch is revving up for races that replace horsepower with pedal power.

The venue is hosting Paralympic road cycling from this Wednesday until Saturday.

But road closures for training days are up and running today and tomorrow.

About three miles of roads will be closed from 4.30am today until midnight on Saturday as follows:

The A20 at Gorse Hill, from south of Eglantine Road to south of Brands Hatch entrance will be closed except for access;

Scratchers Lane, Fawkham, from its junction with A20 London Road throughout its entire length to its junction with Fawkham Road will be closed with restricted access;

Part of Fawkham Road, West Kingsdown, between Scratchers Lane and a rear entrance to Brands Hatch will be closed with restricted access.

Sprinter Stephen Osborne, 49, from Longfield, will be competing in the 100m at the Paralympics.

A keen wheelchair rugby fan, he was introduced to athletics by a friend in 2011 and decided he wanted to compete in an individual sport.

Stephen, who has a spinal cord injury, has already completed the Liverpool Triathlon and the Snowdonia Challenge, and also enjoys football.
