Boy falls 30 feet down cliff

A boy of 16 fell down a cliff at Reculver on Tuesday evening sparking a rescue operation.

Ambulance and police were first at the scene at Reculver Country Park at a little before 7pm.

The Coastguard were alerted and firefighters from Herne Bay called out to help carry the casualty back up the slopes.

The teenager was conscious but in considerable pain having been injured on rocks at the bottom of the 30-ft steep slope.

Emergency staff took 30 minutes to move the casualty into the back of an ambulance.

He suffered back and leg injuries not considered life-threatening.
