Police are warning people to call them if they find eight bottles of a commercial cleaning agent, stolen from the doorstep of a house in Cooper Road, Snodland.

The eight white plastic bottles, taken on Wednesday November 30, each contained five litres of a corrosive oven cleaner, and had the word ‘Brawn’ printed on the side.

Sergeant Kevin Brigden said: "The bottles contain a caustic gel which burns and causes scarring if it comes into contact with skin. It would also cause very serious problems if swallowed.

"We are concerned that whoever stole the bottles may have dumped them after realising they are not going to be worth much to sell on, and they could be found by children or someone not realising how dangerous they could potentially be. The gel is clear and odourless, so it’s not obvious it is extremely harmful."

He urged anyone who came across the bottles, which were in two cardboard boxes when they were stolen, not to touch them but to contact police immediately.

They should phone Kent Police on the new non-emergency number 101 or Kent Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 quoting reference number SI/YY/424/11.
