Bogus builder steals from pensioner

A PENSIONER had money stolen from his home in a Kent village by a man posing as a builder.

It happened at The Street, Upper Halling, near Rochester. The thief knocked at an 81-year-old householder’s door and offered to do repair work.

Instead he made off with a quantity of cash, leaving the pensioner shaken and distressed.

The bogus builder struck between 12.30pm and 1pm on March 23, but police have only recently released the details.

He is described as between 35 and 40, 5ft 11in, medium build, clean shaven and with short dark brown hair. He was smartly dresssed.

Anyone with information is asked to call Rochester Police on 01634 884136 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
