A MAN whose body was found washed up on mudflats in Rochester has been named by Kent Police.

Officers were called to The Esplanade last Saturday after a walker spotted the body of 57-year-old George Sagg as the tide went out.

Fire crews, coastguards and paramedics were also called at about 9.30am but Mr Sagg was pronounced dead at the scene. He came from Wainscott, near Rochester.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: "Initially we were treating the death as suspicious but now we are satisfied that this is not a suspicious incident.”
