Body found by dog walkers

The body of a man was discovered in woodland.

The body was found just after 5.30pm on Monday by two women who were walking their dogs near Harrow Road, Hempstead.

The man, who is believed to be in his 30s, has not been formally identified but is thought to be from the Gillingham area.

Medway police are not treating his death as suspicious.

A post mortem examination is expected to be carried out today, Wednesday, and an inquest opened and adjourned tomorrow morning.
