Blaze man saved by firefighters

FIREFIGHTERS rescued a man from a fourth floor window after a blaze broke out in a block of flats in High Street, Gravesend, early on Saturday morning.

The man was rescued using ladders. He was unhurt. About 30 firefighters had the blaze uunder control by about 8.30am.

Six fire engines were called to the building which has a shop on the ground floor.

Police in Gravesend said they did not believe the blaze was started deliberately.
