AN American diner was badly damaged by fire this morning. Firefighters were called to Dillingers in Hayes Street, Bromley, at about 5.30am after smoke triggered an alarm. The smoke could be seen pouring from the roof.

The fire was in the kitchen but the whole building, which was empty at the time, was badly damaged by smoke.

Restaurant owner, James Niazi, described the damage to the Hayes Street restaurant as "an absolute nightmare". "The damage is indescribable," he said.
