Biker killed in A2 crash horror

A YOUNG man died when his motorcycle was involved in a collision with a car on one of the county's main roads.

The crash happened at around 11.50am on Sunday on the A2 Watling Street at the junction with Elaine Avenue, Strood.

The victim has not yet been identified but he is thought to have been a father and lived in the Rochester area. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 22-year-old's red Yahama motorbike was travelling towards London. The car involved, a silver Ford C-Max, had been in the centre island waiting to turn into Elaine Avenue from London Road.

The driver of the car, a 54-year-old local man, suffered shock but was not taken to hospital.

The road was closed for four hours after the incident.
