Biker killed and passenger hurt in smash

A YOUNG motorcyclist died and his teenage passenger was seriously injured when their bike collided with a car.

The 21-year-old Biddenden man, who has not been named, died at the scene in Cranbrook Road, Biddenden, at 10.05pm last night.

The Suzuki 650cc bike he was riding collided with a Kia Rio, driven by a 33-year-old man from Tenterden, who suffered whiplash and shock.

The 16-year-old pillion passenger was taken to Maidstone General Hospital, where he underwent surgery and is now said to be in a stable condition.

Police closed the road until 4.45am this morning while an accident investigation was carried out and the scene was cleared.
