Biker in death crash is named

A MOTORCYCLIST killed in a crash on the A228 near Strood has been named by police as Stephen Burton, from Rochester. He was 41.

Mr Burton sustained multiple injuires when his machine collided head-on with a lorry at about 6pm on Tuesday night. The accident happened outside the G8 garage at the Sharnell Street bypass, near High Halstow.

Mr Burton was travelling towards Rochester while the lorry driver was travelling in the opposite direction towards Grain.

Mr Burton was taken by air ambulance to Maidstone Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
