Lawyers for Kent businessman Christopher Tappin, who was extradited to the US over arms dealing charges, say he should be released today or tomorrow.
The 65-year-old, from Orpington, has been held at a detention centre in New Mexico since February.
His family must pay $50,000 before he can be released. His bond has been set at $1m.
Mr Tappin, president of the Kent Golf Society, denies any wrong-doing.
