Attempted murder probe as woman found unconscious

Police have been given more time to question a man who was arrested on Sunday night on suspicion of the attempted murder of a woman.

Officers were called to a house in Rectory Walk, Cock Lane, Hamstreet, at 9.30pm on Sunday where they found a middle aged woman unconscious.

She was taken to the William Harvey Hospital where her condition is said to be 'critical'.

Police arrested a man this morning Ashford magistrates granted officers more time to question him.
