Attack on man with learning difficulties

AN APPEAL for information has been made by Kent Police after a 39-year-old man with learning difficulties was attacked by a thug in toilets.

The incident happened next to the bus bays at the Pentagon shopping complex at Chatham. The victim, who lives in the Medway area, was pushed and punched in the face and suffered swelling around his eye.

The attacker is described as being aged between 25 and 35, clean-shaven, dark-haired and of medium height. He was wearing a light blue top over blue jeans and white trainers.

The incident occurred just after noon on Saturday, January 14. Investigating officer, PC Martyn Garside, said: “We have made checks at the shopping centre but need the public’s help to identify the person who carried out this malicious, unprovoked attack.

"If you think you remember seeing anyone around this time in or around the toilets, please contact me on 01634 884252."
