Arrests after serious street brawl

ONE man was stabbed and another hit with what is believed to have been a hammer in a fight in Margate.

Police were called to Eaton Road, where a number of men were fighting, in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A 24-year-old man, from Ramsgate, was stabbed in the neck and a 32-year-old Margate man suffered a fractured eye socket after being hit with a blunt instrument.

The 24-year-old man was taken to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford as it was thought his injuries might be life-threatening. He later discharged himself.

Four men were arrested on suspicion of violent conduct and grievous bodily harm and bailed to return to Margate police station on September 17.
