Armed police sent to Minster incident

A police negotiator and firearms officers were called out to Minster on Friday morning.

A man was taken to hospital after officers were called to the incident in Queens Road, Minster, at around 3.00am.

Patrols were on the scene within 10 minutes of being called and after assessing the situation, called the firearms unit as a precaution.

No firearms or tasers were used. Queens Road was closed off by police while they dealt with the incident.

At 6.10am, a 31-year-old man was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital with what are thought to be self-inflicted injuries to his arms.

He is still being treated at hospital but his injuries are not life-threatening.
