April Fool! But did YOU fall for our gag stories?

Music and dance on the M20? Driving on the right through Ashford? It can only be April 1.

Kent Online couldn’t resist getting into the spirit of April Fools’ Day with a couple of gag stories close to the county’s heart – but few of you were taken in by our trickery.

April Fools 1: Two new solutions proposed to ease Stack misery>>>

Instead of receiving a flood of outraged comments on ‘plans’ to divert scores of ‘concentrated’ lorries off the motorways and through Kent’s villages while interpretive dance troupes perform to Johnny Halliday’s greatest hits for bored truckers stuck in Operation Stack, remarks on our SpeakOut were rather more sedate, but cheery.

Vikki Brace, from Chatham, wrote: “Well if Alexi Harpor (Aka April Hoaxer) thinks its a good idea, then who are we to argue........Thanks for the giggle this morning.”

Ian Johnson, from Kent, liked the idea: “Very clever. Had me going for all of...... a micro-second.”

April (no, really!) Faulkner, from Dartford, added: “Well done - you've brightened my day!”

April Fools 2: ‘Driving on right will end town’s concrete collar’>>>

Equally ludicrous was our suggestion that problems on Ashford’s revamped ring-road could be solved by making drivers travel on the right-hand side of the road, to benefit both local motorists and European visitors.

The story did not cause so much as a flutter with our razor-sharp visitors.

So while our April 1 gags may not have taken you in, we want to hear about any white lies and practical jokes that got you into a (temporary) bother this morning.
