Appeal after street robbery

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 25-year-old man was robbed in Chatham.

The victim was just leaving a public payphone in Street End Road when he was approached by three men who asked him the time.

After he told them, they then asked him for some change and went on to threaten him, demanding he hand over his watch and wallet.

The three men ran off towards Luton Road following the robbery which happened last Thursday.

The victim lives in Chatham. The robbers are described as two white men and one black man aged between 16 and 17. All were wearing dark-coloured tracksuit trousers and one wore a cream jacket.

PC Chris Curtis said: "I urge anyone who was in the Street End Road area and saw anything suspicious to contact police on 01634 884252."
