Appeal after serious road crash

POLICE are renewing an appeal for witnesses after a collision between a car and a motorcycle earlier this week.

The crash happened on a bend at Lydd Road, New Romney, at around 10pm on Monday.

The rider of the motorcycle, a 17-year-old Lydd man was taken to Ashford's William Harvey Hospital with fractures and a head injury.

Police say his condition is stable.

The driver of the red BMW car involved, a 43 year-old local man, was not injured.

PC Geraint Morgan said: "This was a very serious collision which has left a young man badly injured. I would like to speak to anyone who could have seen either vehicle before the incident."

Anyone with information is urged to contact PC Morgan on 07870 252447 or Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
