Appeal after man is hurt in crash

A 37-YEAR-OLD man was seriously injured when the car he was travelling in hit a tree on Saturday night.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash which happened in Pysons Road, Ramsgate, at about 10.15pm on Saturday. A black BMW was travelling towards Broadstairs when it left the road and collided with the tree.

The front seat passenger, a 37-year-old Margate man, suffered serious injuries and was cut from the vehicle by a fire crew. He was taken to hospital in Margate where he is in intensive care.

The driver of the car, a 28-year-old man from Margate, and a passenger, a 22-year-old man, also from Margate, suffered minor injuries.

Police believe the car had been travelling from Ramsgate. They are seeking witnesses to the collision or anyone who saw the vehicle earlier in its journey to contact DC Dave Lavender in the traffic unit at Margate Police Station on (01843) 222124.
