Anti-social jet-skiers face police

Complaints about irresponsible jet-skiers on the River Medway are being tackled by police.

Officers are investigating reports that riders have been launching around The Strand and Gillingham Pier.

Several boating clubs and yards have reported concerns to officers that anti-social behaviour on the river could cause an accident.

PCSO Michael Dann, who works with the Marine Community Partnership said: "The river is a great place to use recreationally, but we want people to use it responsibly.

"Those who decide to act irresponsibly are putting themselves and other marine users at risk.

"We will be taking part in a number of operations alongside the police over the coming months."

Officers are also working with Medway Council and Medway Ports.
