Tennessee Light looks like being a dog to be reckoned with after his first three runs here.

With two wins from three starts and interestingly having started as favourite each time, he has now won in both grades A5 and A4 and with the latest win time of 23.56secs in the locker he should not find an A3 race beyond his scope.

His early pace has been winning him his races here and will continue to do so.

The dog had eight races at Oxford before joining Crayford trainer Julie Luckhurst’s kennels. It would seem that the distance here of just 380 metres is very much to the dog’s liking, the trip of 450m at his previous track was clearly a touch too far as his record reflects.

He has the credentials to be a regular winner here and it will be interesting to see just how high he can climb up the grading ladder.

In Max Hero, I think that we have a similar case. I was taken by his win time last week of 23.69secs in an A5 race a week ago, especially with a sectional time, trap to line, of 3.57secs which is fast.

The dog had plenty of race experience at both Sittingbourne and Hove before joining our racing strength and while he faired quite well over 480m at the former, he seemed to struggle over the 515m at Hove.

This is a different ball game here over just our 380m but he has given clear signs that when he gets it right, he is hard to catch.

With five wins from 18 starts, his strike rate is decent. Having hovered between grades A4 and A5 for all 18 races here, will the Racing Office upgrade him to an A3?

Keep an eye on my previous columns folks. The tips in my previous two have led to subsequent winners in Kilmead Charm 7-2 and 5-1, Greenlough Patch 2-1, Nunhead Izzy 3-1 and Kilahara Robin 7-2.

While the tips may not always oblige within a week, they seem to do the business within a couple of runs so as I have said before, stay loyal to them for a couple of outings.

A date for your diary, "Bunny" will be here on Thursday, Friday and Saturday June 28-30. She is a 24ft greyhound on top of a limousine that travels around the country promoting greyhound racing. While you will probably see her touring around the local area, she will be here over the three days if you want to come down. It will be a great photo opportunity for you.
