Airgun recovered after reports of shots fired in Ashford

Police recovered an airgun from a garden after reports of shots being fired in an Ashford road.

Around 20 people gathered in Kilndown Close at around 11.30pm last night after a row broke out.

Firearms officers and a helicopter were sent to the scene amid reports a firearm had been let off.

An airgun was later recovered from a garden in the area.

A 24-year-old Ashford man was arrested on suspicion of assault, and is in custody as investigations continue.
