Air ambulance lands on playing field in Whitstable

The air ambulance landed on a playing field in Whitstable this morning.

The land ambulance also attended the scene in Church Street.

A witness said the emergency crews were attendance for about 20 minutes.

An air ambulance spokesman said: "Our crew arrived on scene at 09.23am where they treated the patient, who was then taken to hospital by the road crew."

A spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance said: "I can confirm that we were called at approximately 8.20am to reports a person had been found in need of medical attention in All Saints Close, Whitstable.

"Ambulance crews attended the scene and were joined at the scene by the air ambulance service.

"The person was treated at the scene before being taken to QEQM Hospital by road.

"The air ambulance service joined us in our vehicle to help treat the patient en route to hospital."
