Air ambulance called to A252 crash at Chilham

A 63-year-old man was flown to a London hospital by the Kent Air Ambulance after a collision between the Porsche 911 he was driving and a Ford Transit van at Chilham.

Emergency services were call to the scene at the junction of the A252 with Bagham Lane at 4.20pm on Monday and the road was closed while they tended to the casualties, made the area safe and began an investigation.

The Porsche driver, who is said to live locally, suffered serious injuries but is said to be in a stable condition in hospital. The van driver escaped with minor injuries.

The road was closed until 8.15pm while officers from Kent Police's Serious Crash Investigation Unit (SCIU) attended.
