Actress Gemma Arterton nominated for BAFTA

Kent-born Gemma Arterton is one of the five actors shortlisted for this year's Bafta rising star award.

The actress, who was born in Gravesend, starred alongside Daniel Craig in Bond film the Quantum Of Solace before taking the title role in Tamara Drewe.

Gemma has been nominated along with Andrew Garfield, Tom Hardy, Aaron Johnson and Emma Stone

The winner is announced when the ceremony is held on February 13.

It comes after the actress recently won a top prize at the GQ awards, where she was hailed woman of the year.
