Accident causes M20 rush-hour delays

Traffic came to a standstill on the M20 this morning after a rush-hour accident.

A car hit the central reservation of the motorway at 8.30am today.

Police and fire crews attended, but no action was needed by the fire crew from Larkfield Fire Station.

The accident involved two cars, one a blue VW Passat. One woman was taken to hospital, complaining of back pain.

The accident happened between Junction 5 (Aylesford) and Junction 4 (Leybourne and Snodland).

The Junction 4 slip road was re-opened at 9.11am.

Traffic was backed up to Junction 7 (Detling) causing delays of around 40 minutes.
