HYUNDAI is unveiling an improved Accent during February. The latest version of its popular mid-range hatchback offers a better performance, higher specification, improved styling and a host of new features.

It is available for the first time with a 1.6 engine, as seen until now in the Coupe and with a four-door saloon body style. The lower trim models in the range have been deleted, so all cars have a high level of standard equipment.

Prices start at £8,695 on the road for the 1.3 GSI five-door, going up to £10,995 for the 1.6 CDX four and five-door. The CRTD GSI, with the 1.5 common rail turbo diesel engine, is £9,195.

Across the range, Accents have the following as standard: driver and passenger airbags, anti-lock brakes with electronic brake force distribution, power steering, side impact bars, CD player, electric front and rear windows, split/folding rear seats, ISOfix child seat anchorage, three three-point seats belts and alloy wheels.

Customers have the choice of three engines: the existing 1.3, the 1.6 and the common rail 1.5 turbo diesel. All versions return impressive fuel economy.

The 1.3 model has a top speed of 108mph, the 1.6 a maximum of 118mph and the diesel is capable of a top speed of 106mph.
