Richard Keys and Andy Gray will perform their first ever live show in Kent.
Richard Keys and Andy Gray will perform their first ever live show in Kent.

The former Sky Sports anchorman is still talking football with his colleague Andy Gray and has an interesting formula for the ultimate player.

Ferguson of Shankly? Shanks. He was more of an entertainer.

Hansen or Shearer? Shearer, again because he was more of an entertainer. He did the hardest job in football which was score goals.

Capello or Eriksson? Neither.

Lynam or Lineker? Des Lynam because he was a proper broadcaster. Gary [Lineker] has done a great job since becoming a presenter on TV but Des was in a league of his own.

Pele or Maradona? It’s close but because he was a player of my generation, Pele.

Ronaldo or Messi? A combination of the two. Ronaldo’s power and Messi’s touch in one player would be amazing but they are both magnificent.

Beckham or Moore? Unequivocally Moore. He won it. He performed in the major tournaments. David [Beckham] never did that.

Georgie Thompson or Kirsty Gallacher? From a professional point of view I suppose you would say Georgie. No change that. I pick Kirsty as I got her her first big break.

Richard Keys and Andy Gray Live and Loud comes to Tunbridge Wells’ Assembly Hall Theatre on Friday, November 4.
