£53,699 lottery ticket still unclaimed

SOMEONE likely to be living in Kent could be sitting on a £53,699 lottery ticket that is yet to be claimed.

The National Lottery is urging anyone who bought a ticket in the Canterbury area to double-check it to see if they have won the prize.

The owner of the winning ticket matched five numbers and the bonus ball in the Lotto draw on Wednesday, August 1.

The winning numbers were 3, 6, 15, 23, 28, 42 and the bonus ball was 40.

A National Lottery spokesperson said: “We are urging everyone to check their old tickets again or look anywhere a missing ticket could be hiding.

“Try checking in the pockets of clothing, in wallets, bags and down the back of the sofa – someone out there could literally be sitting on a fortune.”

The closing date to claim the prize is 5.30pm on Monday, January 28, 2008.

Anyone who believes they have the winning ticket should call the National Lottery line on 0845 910 0000.
