4 hurt as car and bus collide

FOUR people were badly injured when the car they were travelling in was involved in a collision with a bus.

Firefighters had to cut free two young men and two young women from the wreckage of the car in Sidcup Hill, Sidcup, by removing the car roof.

The four were taken to the intensive care unit at the nearby Queen Mary's Hospital.

All four are believed to have suffered broken bones. The front female passenger was said to be unconscious.

Police said the crash happened at about 3.45am on Sunday. The driver of the bus, believed to have been returning to its depot at Tesco in Sidcup, suffered bruising to his legs and knees.

Firefighters from Sidcup, Orpington and Bexley attended the incident. The cause is under investigation.
