3 arrests in dismembered body investigation

THREE people have been arrested by police investigating the death of a man whose dismembered body was found at a popular water sports location.

A murder investigation was initially launched last month after the body of 37-year-old Alexander Brown, from Beckenham, was found in Pentney Lakes near King's Lynn, Norfolk on March 28.

Mr Brown had disappeared last October after a night out drinking with friends in Swaffham.

Police said a 34-year old man was arrested on suspicion of murder at an address in Swaffham on Tuesday. A 58-year-old man was arrested at the same location on suspicion of assisting offenders.

A 58-year-old woman was also arrested at an address in Bromley on suspicion of assisting offenders.

Norfolk police have confirmed that all three are being held in police custody where they will be questioned.

Police are continuing searches of houses in Bromley and Swaffham.

Police have, to date, been unable to determine the exact cause of Mr Brown's death. He sustained a number of injuries which could have killed him, according to Norfolk pathologists.
