Hundreds of onlookers stopped in their tracks to watch a landmark wedding that included an incredible 27 bridesmaids and 22 page boys.

The crowd clapped as Ashford Boxing Club member Levi Smith, 21, married his bride Priscella Wilson, 20, of High Halden, at St Mildred’s Church, Tenterden on Saturday.

But the florist-busting highlight was what followed them down the aisle - a whopping 27 bridesmaids and 22 page boys.

The pair soared within sight of the UK record, believed to be 38 bridesmaids.

Mr Smith is well-known at the boxing club, which he joined at the age of 10.

He won the National Golden Gloves and National Golden Belt aged 13 and 14, and at just 15 he reached the semi-finals of the Amateur Boxing Association championships.

Head coach at Ashford Boxing Club Jamie Carter, who attended the ceremony with his family, said: “It was a wonderful spectacle and a great day. Congratulations to them both.”
