More than £750,000 worth of premium bond winnings are sitting unclaimed in Kent.

The National Savings and Investments (N S&I) are trying to track down the county's 13,001 winners, who hold a total of £756,565 between them.

The two luckiest winners, one man and one woman, have yet to claim their £5,000 rewards, whilst other prizes range from £1,000 to £25. The female £5,000 winner only holds £5 in premium bonds!

Winnings often go unclaimed because people fail to pass on their new addresses when they move house, forget that bonds have been bought for them or are unaware the bonds are held when someone dies.

More than half of bond holders say they find it difficult to remember all of the accounts they have opened over the years.

Sally Swait, premium bond manager at NS&I said: "Following the expense of Christmas, tracing unclaimed Premium Bonds prizes may prove to be a welcome source of extra money for some.

"We urge anyone who believes they could have unclaimed prizes to check with us. The easiest way is to use our website and there is no time limit on claiming the prizes."
