AROUND 20 women attended the first official Women's Company Tunbridge Wells Lunch at Sankey's Restaurant Wine Bar.

The event, which was organised in conjunction with the Kent based Women's Company, owes its success to Miranda Seadon of TWIG who decided to organise an informal networking lunch after attending regular lunches in Bromley run by The Women's Company.

She said: "The feedback from the Bromley lunches was so positive we thought it would benefit the business women of Tunbridge Wells.

"What makes them different to other networking events is the relaxed atmosphere where women can enjoy socializing without feeling under pressure to perform or having to listen to motivational speakers."

She adds that women network naturally in an informal environment - a preference shared by other business women she has spoken to.

The lunch was attended by self-employed business women, company directors and employees from companies ranging from solicitors, direct marketing and recruitment agencies to PR, self-catering holidays and print procurement.

The Women's Lunch will be held on the last Monday of each month at Sankey's, from 12.30 - 2pm.
